boarding barn - Groom/Barn Hand (part-time and full time)
Lawton Stables offers a full-service state-of-the-art boarding facility. Currently, we house 20-24 privately boarded horses. We pride ourselves in providing the best possible care for all of our animals and expect nothing but the best from the employees entrusted with their care.
We are looking for a long-term dedicated groom/farm hand to join our team as soon as possible. Duties will revolve around cleaning and horse care. This is NOT a riding position.
tRail barn - Seasonal trail guides (approx Memorial Day- Labor Day)
Trail Guides are a vital part of our organization. Trail Guides are responsible for the friendliness, safety, and competency our visitors experience, as well as the safety, care, and public display of our horses, animals, and grounds. Duties include operating Lawton Stables’ trail rides, pony rides, animal farm, maintenance, cleanliness, and care of the animals, including regular vet and farrier coordination, and regular farm duties. As Lawton operates on a resort facility, trail guides are required to work throughout the busy periods including summer and holiday periods. The safety and consideration of our guests is paramount along with the safety and consideration of our employees and the animals under our care.
At least three years of horseback riding is REQUIRED to apply.
Pony guides and animal farm (part-time and full time)
Looking for candidates 18yrs or older who have some animal experience or are willing and able to learn and grow. This is a position that will deal directly with our customers so we are looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic, and positive person that will connect with our customers and ensure that they enjoy their experience at our farm while ensuring the safety of humans and animals. We are looking for a self-starter who will also be able to work independently and with little supervision.
Pay is based on experience and availability. This is a three to five day a week position with Saturday and Sunday occasionally being required. The hours required for this position may change with the seasons based on the needs of the business. No experience is required but all candidates must be comfortable around farm animals and ponies/horses.
SEASONAL GIFT SHOP OFFICE ASSISTANT
Office Associates are responsible for booking reservations in person and over the phone, signing children up for pony rides, assisting customers with questions, keeping the gift shop well stocked and organized, checking customers out of the gift ship, checking customers in for their reservations and opening/closing the business based on scheduling.
The right candidate works well under pressure and has a hospitable mindset, friendly demeanor, and can work quickly and efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. There are usually two team members inside the office/gift shop to meet the needs of the business.
As of this moment, the part-time summer associates will be scheduled anywhere between 20-30 hours a week. Business needs do not allow for extended time off during this job time frame unless discussed with the Office Manager prior to hiring. The ideal candidate would also be available during busier times of the year, i.e. holidays and school break periods.
