Trail Guide- Part-Time, Year Round

Lawton Stables is an equestrian facility offering 1-hour guided Western trail rides through a local Forest Preserve for adults and children 8+ years old. We also offer pony rides for children 7 or younger, birthday pony parties, a small animal farm, and a gift store. We are open 6 days a week, offering 3-4 rides per day in the winter, 4-5 rides in the spring and fall, and 5 rides a day in the summer.

Trail Guides are a vital part of our organization. Trail Guides are responsible for the friendliness, safety and competency our visitor's experience, as well as the safety, care and public display of our horses, animals, and grounds. We are seeking out a self-starting outgoing individual to add to our team. Duties include the running and operation of Lawton Stables’ trail rides, maintenance, cleanliness, and care of the animals, including regular vet and farrier coordination, and regular farm duties. The safety and consideration of our guests, our employees, as well as the animals under our care is top priority.

This position will be full time at 30-36 hours per week. Shifts will be 10-12 hours long and weekends/holidays are often required. At LEAST three years of riding experience required to apply.

boarding barn - Groom/Barn Hand (part-time and full time)

Lawton Stables offers a full-service state-of-the-art boarding facility. Currently, we house 20-24 privately boarded horses. We pride ourselves in providing the best possible care for all of our animals and expect nothing but the best from the employees entrusted with their care.

We are looking for a long-term dedicated groom/farm hand to join our team as soon as possible. Duties will revolve around cleaning and horse care. This is NOT a riding position.
